The environmental impact assessment is currently being conducted for a project aimed at modernizing waste disposal facilities that have become outdated since their operation began in 1999.

This project intends to address the increased generation of household waste due to large-scale land development and reconstruction projects in Gwacheon City, which is expected to lead to population growth. Its primary objectives include the proper disposal of increased waste, improvement of outdated waste disposal facilities, modernization of incineration facilities, and the restoration of amenities such as public facilities and walking spaces for local residents. The project aims to enhance the community's acceptance of the resource purification center.
