An environmental impact assessment is currently being conducted for the new hydropower plants that were reflected in the 9th Basic Plan for Electricity Supply and Demand (2020).

The primary purpose of this project is to proactively address long-term and stable electricity supply plans that consider the importance of both energy security and obtaining environmentally friendly energy resources. This involves utilizing hydropower resources, which can provide energy security and contribute to environmental sustainability, given the growing global emphasis on stable energy resource acquisition and the prevention of environmental pollution.
