An environmental impact assessment was conducted for the Maengdong Ingok Industrial Complex development project in Eumseong County, aiming to establish a foundation for local growth to increase the income of local residents and stimulate the regional economy, in response to the opening of the East-West Expressway and the creation of the Chungbuk Innovation City.

The project seeks to create a hub for the growth of Eumseong County, emphasizing specialized local industries and promoting the integration of regional industries. It also focuses on the development of future-oriented industries to prepare for the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The industrial complex will be designed to facilitate synergy and cooperation with the Chungbuk Innovation City and surrounding industrial complexes, ultimately fostering innovation clusters in the region.
