In response to the increasing occurrence of ground subsidence phenomena, commonly referred to as "sinkholes," in the central areas of Suwon City's 20 districts (Songjuk, Guun, Yeonghwa, Hwaseo, Maesan, Omokcheon, Paldal, Maetan, Yeongtong, Mangpo, Pajang, Gosaek, Yeonmu, Seryu, Ingye, Jangdari, Gwonseon, Gokbanjeong, Gongdan, Homaesil), which has led to heightened public anxiety and emerged as a societal issue, the purpose is to provide basic information regarding ground subsidence. This includes conducting precise investigations into aging and deteriorating sewage pipelines susceptible to ground subsidence, and establishing plans for their replacement and maintenance. The aim is to enable systematic and rapid responses to ground subsidence caused by sewage pipelines, with the goal of preventing potential harm to human life and property.
