This project designed an energy storage system (ESS) in response to a request to design a device to store electrical energy produced by wind power at the Yeongyang Wind Power Complex, which was built for wind power generation. It was planned to be Korea's largest wind power-linked energy storage system that contributes to reducing peaks in the KEPCO power system and improving power stability by storing electrical energy produced at the Yeongyang Wind Power Complex and transmitting electricity to the KEPCO system.
