The overall responsibility and supervision of the first section of the Sillim Line light rail construction project was carried out from 2011 to 2022 to provide subway and rail transportation services to the southwestern part of Seoul, an area that did not benefit from existing subway and railroad services. Through this project, the intention was to establish public transportation infrastructure and establish an eco-friendly public transportation system by establishing a network with existing urban railways.
