An environmental impact assessment was conducted for a project aimed at establishing a subway network that connects the Donghae Southern Line (Busanjin Station to Ulsan Station) and the Gyeongbu High-Speed Railway (Sin-Gyeongju Station). The purpose of this project is to relocate the railway line to the outskirts of the urban area in accordance with the UNESCO recommendation related to the designation of Gyeongju as a World Cultural Heritage City, aiming to minimize its impact on the city's cultural heritage sites.
