As part of the comprehensive transportation improvement plan for the Hwaseong-Dongtan 2 New Town development project, a project was initiated for the construction of a road connecting local road 23 and the highway from Jungri to Bongmyeong. This project aims to address the increase in traffic volume due to the development of the new town, enhance the convenience and mobility of commuters, establish a high-quality transportation network, provide reliable transportation services, and ensure traffic stability resulting from the expansion of arterial roads. The project section covers a total length of 10.8 kilometers, starting from near the Namseong Interchange of the Gyeongbu Expressway to the vicinity of Jungri on Local Road 23. It involves a four-lane road (width of 20 meters) with a design speed of 80 km/h. The main tasks performed include soil investigation, route survey, preliminary disaster impact assessment, preliminary environmental impact assessment, as well as basic and detailed design work.
