The design begins with an architectural reinterpretation of water, the core symbol of K-water’s identity.
The transparency of water is expressed through the building façade, while its flow and circulation shape the principles of spatial organization. Responding to the strategic location within the Ulsan Station transit-oriented district, the building is envisioned as a public landmark representing the region. The transparent façade and media façade clearly articulate K-water’s identity within the urban landscape.
The lower levels are planned as open community spaces accessible to citizens, reinforcing publicness and urban continuity. Office spaces are oriented to the south to maximize natural daylight, creating a comfortable and efficient working environment. Public, support, and office zones are vertically organized to ensure both security and operational efficiency. Voids and an integrated green network actively draw nature into the building interior, forming pleasant and restorative break spaces. Precise daylighting analysis, smart louvers, and double-skin façade systems are applied as part of a low-carbon, zero-energy strategy, presenting a sustainable model for future-oriented water resource management.
