This project aims to establish a national railway network by connecting the eastern and western regions, reducing travel times, and creating a railway network that traverses the central to eastern parts of the country. It is intended to promote the development of underdeveloped areas in Gangwon Province and reduce national logistics costs through shortened transportation times in the Donghae region. Detailed design work for the ninth phase of this project has been carried out.
