The Incheon Free Economic Zone, Songdo International City development plan and implementation plan revision is a project aimed at reclaiming land in the former mudflats of the old Songdo area. It seeks to attract advanced knowledge service industries such as international business, IT, biotechnology, and research and development while planning for residential spaces and living infrastructure. The project covers an area of 53.36 square kilometers, with a project duration spanning from 2003 to 2030, and a planned population of 265,000 people.
The Songdo International City project, from 2013 to the present (2023), has been working on various aspects such as development planning, implementation planning, district-level planning, landscape detailed planning, and conceptual design. It aims to provide a development direction in line with changes in the industrial landscape and conditions, establish scale and population plans to create pleasant residential areas, and formulate land use concepts and infrastructure plans that align with future development.
