In the southern part of Seoul's central area, within Gangnam-gu, there is a residential area where 1,500 households reside. This residential facility, which resembles the shape of the mountain behind it, was planned and initiated by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) in April 2010, with a total floor area of 180,000 square meters. LH, the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, aimed to provide affordable public housing for low-income families in Korea through this project. The design of the tower block hybrid proposes not just another residential tower in the suburbs but rather a community that is connected to Seoul yet largely self-sufficient. The existence of the community is rooted in the potential for social interconnectivity and a sense of place pride. To achieve this, the tower block hybrid clearly distinguishes between shared and private outdoor spaces. The entire complex is divided into five blocks, each with its own courtyard serving as communal spaces with sports facilities, playgrounds, and gardens. Additionally, landscaped spaces and amenities were strategically planned to connect and separate blocks, fostering a harmonious environment.
