This project is part of the government's initiative aimed at enhancing the quality of culture. It is located in Songhyeon-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, next to Gyeongbokgung Palace, and is planned as a 'Multipurpose Cultural Complex' covering approximately 37,000 square meters. Positioned as the central point of a tourism cluster, it emphasizes connecting to Korea's major tourist destinations nearby, such as Myeongdong, Insadong, and Bukchon Hanok Village.
The design concept of the project draws inspiration from one of the traditional low-rise commercial typologies in Korea known as a 'Jangteo' (marketplace). The focus is on creating and reinterpreting a modernized market. The facility comprises an information center, a traditional culture experience center, exhibition halls, a performance venue, a lifelong education center, and small retail shops.
