The funeral hall at the Armed Forces Capital Hospital in Seongnam City employs a simple and clean linear design to create a space for mourning. As a military funeral hall, it adopts a discreet massing plan that conveys solemnity by utilizing the topography to minimize visual exposure through underground facilities and greening the rooftop. The building's exterior features vertical geometric patterns composed of materials such as metal zinc, solid panels, and transparent glass, creating a lively aesthetic rhythm. The front design consists of vertical zinc panels with diagonal patterns and full-height glass windows at the southern and western corners, while warm-colored concrete panels surround the entire external wall. These various treatments on the front provide a dynamic visual effect. The central outdoor circular theater space from the second to the third floor offers visual connections throughout the building, and the natural topography is used to create a rational circulation and utilize outdoor spaces, including rooftop gardens. Roof gardens and terraces are incorporated to provide a harmonious and convenient environment.
